2D Laser Local Position System

Measures the position on one plane. Angle resolution is 0.001°, this is 0.1mm per 5m. Jitter +- 0.002°

Rotating Laser Mirror

The picture shows the first prototype with only one mirror.

The system consists of 2 rotating polygon mirrors and 3 laser modules. One laser is only for the synchronisation to get an absolute angle value.

The sync pulses were transmitted to the photo receiver by a 2.4GHz video module with 6MHz bandwdith. A STM32 board with a 80MHz timer detects the phase margin between light pulses and synch pulses and calculates the angle with a resolution of 0.001°.
